50/50 for iPhone

50/50 support

Two things on screen. One of them is right. Get it wrong and the run is over.

Questions, bugs, or a trivia answer you think we got wrong: sean@palmprojects.com. Replies usually take a day or two.

Is it actually random?

In Chance mode, yes. The correct card is picked at random the moment the round begins. It is not weighted, it does not get harder as your streak grows, and it has no idea which card you are about to tap.

That makes the odds of reaching a streak of ten exactly 1 in 1,024. Twenty is roughly one in a million. If it feels impossible, that is because it very nearly is.

I lost ten in a row

Ten losses in a row turns up about once in every thousand attempts. With enough people playing, it happens to somebody every few minutes. Runs of bad luck feel arranged. Nothing in the app is arranging them.

I think a trivia answer is wrong

Please tell us, and include the two things being compared. Every question is checked before it ships, but the bank runs to nearly a thousand and mistakes are possible.

Corrections go out in the next update. Most questions are generated from data tables, so fixing one figure fixes every question that used it.

Does everyone get the same Daily Challenge?

Yes. The same ten questions worldwide, worked out on your own phone from the date rather than fetched from anywhere. Someone in Sydney and someone in New York both play puzzle 244 on their own 9 September, a few hours apart.

I missed a day

The day counter resets once a full day passes without a challenge completed. Your best streaks and your history are untouched.

I cannot see the global leaderboard

You need to be signed in to Game Center. Open Settings on your iPhone, find Game Center, and switch it on. Everything else in the game works without it.

Does the app collect my data?

No. No accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking. The only thing that ever leaves your phone is a best streak going to Apple's Game Center leaderboard, and only if you are signed in. The privacy policy has the full detail.

Turning off sound or vibration

Both are in Settings inside the app. Sound also follows your phone's mute switch, and it mixes with whatever you are already playing rather than stopping it.

It looks like a phone app on my iPad

It is a phone app. 50/50 is built for iPhone. It installs and plays on iPad, in the iPhone layout rather than one designed for the larger screen.
