What this actually costs

There is no price list on this page, and I want to explain why rather than just leave you wondering.

A published rate card invites you to compare a number against other numbers, and there will always be a cheaper number. Someone on a freelance marketplace will do it for four hundred dollars. That is a real option and for some businesses it is the right one.

What a rate card cannot tell you is what is in the box. So instead of a price, here is the honest version: the ways you can work with me, and every factor that actually moves the number. Read those and you will be able to estimate your own project within a reasonable range before we ever speak.

I am not the cheapest option in South Florida. I am also not the most expensive, and I am deliberately positioned to be affordable for an owner operated business that is serious about its website. If your budget is genuinely small, tell me the number. I will either tell you what can be done inside it or tell you honestly that you should spend it elsewhere.

Three ways to work together

Pick the one that matches the problem

Fixed scope, fixed fee

A build

A new site, designed and built from nothing. Scoped in writing before anything starts, so the number does not move unless you change what you asked for.

Right when: You have no site, or the one you have is beyond fixing.

Monthly

A retainer

Ongoing search, content and technical work on a set cadence. Minimum three months, because anything shorter cannot show you whether it worked.

Right when: The site is sound and you want it to compound.

One off

An audit

A written teardown of what you have: rankings, speed, crawl state, competitors, and the problems ranked by cost. Yours to act on however you like, including with someone else.

Right when: You suspect something is wrong and want a straight answer before committing to anything.

What moves the number

Six things, in rough order

Page count

A five page site and a forty page site are not the same job. Most of the cost is in the pages that need original thinking, not the ones that repeat a pattern.

Custom functionality

Booking, calculators, gated content, integrations with software you already use. Each one is real engineering rather than a setting.

Content production

If you supply the words, this is near zero. If I write them, it is a meaningful share of the project. Most people underestimate how much this matters to the total.

Migration complexity

An existing site with hundreds of URLs, an old ecommerce catalogue or a decade of blog posts needs a redirect map and careful handling. A brand new domain does not.

Keyword competitiveness

Ranking for a term three well funded competitors are actively fighting over is a different scale of effort from ranking for one nobody has bothered with.

Speed of decisions

Not billed for, but real. Projects with one decision maker who answers within a day cost less to run than projects with a committee.

Before you enquire

Who I am not right for

If you want the cheapest possible site and the plan is to never touch it again, I am the wrong call and a template will serve you better.

If you need a team of ten and a dedicated account manager, I am the wrong size.

I do not take behavioral health or substance abuse treatment clients. That is a contractual restriction on my end, not a judgment, and it is absolute.

Everyone else, send it over. The contact form asks for a budget range, which is there so neither of us spends an hour finding out we were never in the same conversation.

Tell me what you are trying to fix

Send over the site you have now, or the one you wish you had. I will tell you honestly whether I am the right person for it.
