50/50 does not collect anything about you. No accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking of any kind. This page explains the detail. It is short because there is very little to explain.
What the app keeps on your phone
Three things, all stored in your iPhone's own storage:
- Your game history. Best streaks, runs played, results.
- Your Daily Challenge results and how many days in a row you have played.
- Your settings. Sound, haptics, and the game type and mode you last chose.
None of it is sent anywhere, because there is nowhere to send it. Palm Projects runs no server for this app and holds no database. Delete the app and that information goes with it.
Game Center
If you are signed in to Game Center, the app submits your best streak to Apple's leaderboards so it can be ranked against other players. That is the only information that ever leaves your phone.
Game Center belongs to Apple, not to us. Your Game Center nickname and profile picture appear on the leaderboard, and you control both in your iPhone's Settings under Game Center. We receive nothing back beyond the same public leaderboard that any player can see. How Apple handles that data is covered by Apple's own privacy policy, published on their website.
You can play the whole game with Game Center switched off. You lose the global and friends' boards. Nothing else changes.
Sharing a result
The Daily Challenge can produce a row of colored squares and a score for you to share. That happens only when you tap Share, it goes through your iPhone's own share sheet, and it goes wherever you choose to send it. We never see it.
Children
Nothing is collected from anyone, children included. There is no chat, no user generated content, no advertising, and nothing to buy.
Changes to this policy
If the app ever starts doing something different with information, this page will be updated before that version ships, and the date at the top will change with it.
